Well, after dabbling with one for the past couple of months, the car has gone and is going to be replaced by an X5 4.6 Sport.

Tried it out today and the performance seems very similar but I preffered to handling of the BMW.

So Bi Jag forum and hello BMW forum.

Surprisingly, to me, I don't think that I'll miss the Jag.

I'm sure other road users will give you a warm welcome in your beemer.

But seriously, good luck with your new motor.
(although I still think you should have bought that Dino - Less bling more zing! )

The Dino may still be a possibility but I haven't told the wife.

I believe the guy's moving abroard but hasn't yet found a buyer (shame).

- and I promise not to promote the idea of BMW drivers being the owners of the road, even if we are.

This is an interesting comment. I've always thought the XK's were gorgeous to look at but know little about them.
Did you have problems with it?
Many moons ago I've owned an XJ and a Daimler but regretted both almost straight away.

No problems really.

Good acceleration, very comfortable and good looking.

A bit characterless to drive and not much feedback on the roads, as automatic and power steering - so didn't feel comfortable throwing it around at all.

Convertible roof totally weatherproof and no problems.

No mechanical problems but only had her for two months!

Thanks, that's good news, possibly, for the future.
