XK8/XKR Show

First show kicks off next year at Beaulieu

The XK8/XKR Enthusiasts Club - set up this year - is busy organising its first major gathering planned for May 9th next year.

The event will take place at the Beaulieu Motor Museum in Hampshire on Sunday May 9th and promises to be an interesting spectacle.

The organisers are hoping to have display stands from Racing Green Cars, Paramount Performance and a local Jaguar dealership. Other attractions will include the green XKR from the latest James Bond film, the Austin Powers Union Jack livery XK8, the original 1996 Geneva and New York Motor Show launch cars and a pre production XK8 still in its camouflage.

Owners cars will include standard factory models, full blown conversions, limited edition XKR100s and XKR Silverstones.

Dunno yet - probably won't have mine then but, if I do, it's a deffinit maybe!

Am I reading it right that they've only 37 members as yet?

Mark Gregory may confirm how many members he currently has - and then again maybe he won't ! But don't forget, this is a very new club and he is working incredibly hard to "grow" it. So why not join the club ? I think the main difference about this club and other Jaguar owner's/member's clubs is that this one is meant to be somewhat more entrepreneurial in its events. It is more about doing things than "picnicking and polishing".

Mark is really working very hard to make this a meaningful club for owners of these cars and his efforts deserve to be supported. He is also organising a film night in February and has just done a Jaguar factory tour. His membership fee is buttons - the equivalent of the fuel used to go to the local shop in an XKR!

Hi, I'm Mark Gregory who runs the XK8 / XKR Enthusiasts Club. I can confirm that at this stage we do have 37 members spread across the UK and US (which isn't bad coinsidering we have only been going 6 months). The aim of the event is to bring together all owners (not just club members) of XK8a nd XKRs so that we can promote its existence and do something that has not really been done before in the XK8/R scene. I do hope those of you who are owners may consider joining our friendly and very active club. You may like to view our website to see how far we've come so far www.xk8xkrenthusiastsclub.com. I look forward to hearing from any prospective members and also hearing from anyone who would like to attend our main event in May 04.
