Had the car professionally valeted yesterday..

lovely job....

Won't start this morning, had to walk to school with the kids...

(In the cars defense, it looks like the valeters may have squirted something they shouldn't have.)

Sorry to her that, I have had my XJR for nearly 3 years and my XJS for 20 months, neither of them have let me down.

Let's hope that this is a one off "valeting accident"

If the wiring is similar to an X300, there is a white wire in the conector block behind the offside headlamp, and beside the filler for the windscreen washer bottle. This is the power feed to the ECU, check that this connection isn't corroded, it causes untold starting and missfire problems when wet

Hi folks,
I think it is a valeting incident.
Eventually she started fine, I now have a dehumidifier in the car drying it out nicely. I must admit I was slightly worried when they sloshed quite a lot of water around. The carpets and leather look like new though.
They didn't steam the engine, as I didn't want any potential problems but saying that I have cleaned it myself with some engine cleaner which didnt need any water, just elbow grease.
Fingers crossed.
Still, it makes it already more interesting than the BMW complete reliability machine. (Dont believe I am saying that!)
You might be hearing a little more from me on here...

Saying that, are there any of us in the Bristol area......
