Replica body panels
Discussion
My '89 XJ40 needs new door panels and Jaguar want 345 quid each - probably more than the car is worth. My options are:
1) Find a company that does replica body panels - my preferred solution but I can't find any. Do they exist???
ii) Try and get a door the same colour from a breaker and either live with the colour match being a bit off or try and respay it.
iii) Throw the car in the bin.
Does anyone know of a company that makes replica panels?
Cheers,
Phil.

Not sure if makers of replica components or 'pattern parts' as they're called tend to bother with doors. Still, worth checking the 'motor factors' section of Yellow pages and phoning round a few companies to check. They usually sell below main dealer prices and you might get lucky (or pointed in right direction).
Think used panels might turn out to be your best option though.

Couldn't find any pattern parts for doors - Eurojag (who have incidentally been really good in the past) are able to source second hand doors for £55 quid each which is pretty good.
I've sadly decided to sell the car and parted company with it today (sob sob). Still I've had six years of very happy motoring and I'll just have to start saving for one of the new XJRs.....
