Jaguar XK grows added style

Add-ons help you stand out from the crowd

Is your XK not quite distinctive enough? Jaguar's brought out a styling pack for "buyers wanting a more distinctive yet elegant exterior appearance for their XK".

It means you can choose from a range of body exterior styling products, known as the 'Exterior Styling Pack'.

The pack aims to provide the car with a more bold and distinct appearance, to "reflect and accentuate the dynamic qualities and sleek, strong profile" and to "use the car’s existing flowing lines to project its athleticism and performance".

The add-ons consist of a front valance, rear valance, upper and lower mesh grilles in a choice of bright or black finish, sill appliqués as well as new exhaust tailpipe finishers.

The parts are already primed, easy to fit and use current fixings, said Jaguar.

Design chief Ian Callum said: "We have designed a range of accessory products to visually emphasise the stance and presence of the XK. The enhancements we have made for the XK Exterior Styling Pack give the car an even more stylish and purposeful look by deliberately lowering the visual stance of the car and creating exciting new elements that work with the elegant profile of XK."

The pack's available from March 2007, and can be retro-fitted to all non-supercharged new XKs from launch.

"use the cars existing flowing lines to project its athleticism and performance".

The XK8 does not need any add-ons, it looks fine as it is.

Jags are supposed to be 'riding high' and have a low roofline at the same time. This is what makes them so elegant. (-> X300/308 XJ, XK8)

Looks better than the square faced XKR look.

Not keen on the wheels though, they look so Halfrauds!

Still prefer the old shape on 19" Silverstone's (think thats what they were, them nice twisted 5 spokes)!

interesting...cos I much prefer the look with the add-ons...maybe just me but i find the standard one a litle girly for my tastes and this visually 'hunkers it down' some....

Personally I think that the body kit takes away the beauty of it. I am sure that it won't be long before some rich, tasteless Chav puts his 22" chrome wheels on it. Leave it as it is!

So 3000 owners go out and buy the body kit, all wanting to be individual and unique. Not for long hehe
What a load of old Charlie Hollocks!! It's perfect as is.

Love the car as it is, not a fan of 'bodykits' and this just confirms my position. Why spend money on a beautiful car and then spend more making it ugly. Please stop this and get back to the proper engineering.
