Got my new XKR, yay! Think its got to go though, boo!
Discussion
To cut a long story short, dealer ensured that kids fit in the back, then sold me the seat from the XK accessories book. But once installed, cannot fit a sprog in the seat without crushing legs, even with seat fully forward.
Driving it to a Bentley garage in the morning to see if the GT is any better.
That fatal issue (for me) aside, I am wholly thrilled with it. I'll try and get some pics soon. Had some great fun already, but scared myself too after some backend sliding, wheel spining incidents.

A trip to the dealer to see a new XK8 12 months ago would have told you that!
As for the Bentley GT, my brother-in-law showed this weekend that he could easily get both his children (2 and 4 years old) in childseats in the back, with 2 adults in the front.
Why not go buy a Discovery 3 for the kids and keep the XKR for yourself, you'll still have plenty of change.

Legs on kids are overrated, they never use them anyway, well except for kicking each other and the back of your seat. Even if you do let them keep their legs, they still expect you to drive them everywhere. So you may as well keep the car you want and forget about legs
BTW
I tried this logic and it didn't work for me either.
Gave up trying to buy an XKR (old shape)
Tried an Aston Martin Virage Volante instead, but somehow it did click with me
Ended up keeping my XJ6 and buying a toy as well

I did go to dealers when original XK was out. They didnt have a seat to hand but just told me it'd be fine. Then a few weeks ago I went to dealers with kid and seat in tow, but the lovely little sprog filled her nappy as we walked into showroom, so had to turn straight back round again! Never got round to trying again, as took Jag's word for it.
GT sounds good.
Already getting a RR Sport too, but wanted the nicer car (XKR) to also be able to take family out for day/weekend. I think I might just get a roof-rack! ;o)
