V8 Mileage Concerns
Discussion
I have been spending quite some time deliberating on my next car and it would seem a 2000/2001 XJR is the likely candidate.
There are many informative postings on this forum and I am very grateful to all who have contributed and parted with their knowledge.
Anyway, mileage.... what can be expected from the engine ? .......assuming fastidious servicing is maintained.
Should I be overly concerned with 80k+ mileage ?
I want the car to replace my daily used Audi which has clocked up circa 35k over 28months and fully expect similar mileage for the XJR.
All feed back will be well received.
Thanks guys.

As a brand new owner, I hope that I may be able to help you....
I have looked around at quite a few cars, some with higher mileage than others and it would appear that as long as they have full service history, and that they have been looked after, the high mileage cars seem to be a good buy! (Certainly there are enough Jaguar specialists out there selling them, so they must be worth considering?)
Personally, I would rather go for the car that has been used regularly and serviced to schedule, as opposed to a car that looks immaculate but has hardly any miles on it or has not been used for long periods!
As with other cars I have owned previously, I think you need to buy on overall condition and detailed service history, not get too focused or worried about mileage figures.
Then once you have bought one.....enjoy it!!
