well im looking to build an AC cobra replica sometime next year so My xj6 series 1 2.8 will have to go as i need the garage space! any idea what a good condition 1973 XJ6 series 1 with only 73000 miles, loads of history in silver with red leather, manual with o-drive would be worth? av got a valuation certificate from late 90's that put it at £4500 but that was then. any ideas?

Test the market! Put it on E-Bay with an undisclosed reserve of (say) 3000 pounds & see how near you get. If the best bid is at or over the reserve, fine. If it less, then that is the market value. However do provide full details (& I mean full details) of the car. There seems to be an inverse relationship between the details supplied & the number & value of the bids. I think that potential bidders think that scanty details means the seller is hiding something.

Looking at the Jaguar Enthusiast Club site, they value as following:

Concourse - £6,000
A+ £3,000
A £1,500
B £1,000
C £500

Worth trying it on at £6k I'd have thought...

i paid 4200 last year, think shes A+ although there is a bit of bubbling on the bottom of both front doors, but shes in the more desirable silver with the red leather and manual box. ill try e-bay after x-mass and see what i get!
