Why not just buy a diesel one?

Because they are not nearly as much fun to drive and do not have the 4 wheel drive.

Drive alot in Europe alps during the winter so 4 wheel drive is really handy

Ah fair enough.

The economy isn't completely terrible on the 3.0 though. You'll probably average 25mpg or so.

The only reason I am thinking of doing this is because apparantly there are grants available to do it and the new green taxes could be crippling on fuel.

A preemptive strike if you will.
