Anyone with the new XK fitted a child seat?
Discussion
Need to get a child seat for my 2yr old to fit in the 'R when it arrives. From memory I remember that the new XK has ISOFIX in the back but cant think for the life of me that any ISOFIX seats can actually fit in the back. The best I can think of is the simple booster-seat style, which Jag sells in their accessory catalogues. Has anyone managed to fit a proper car seat in the back?
Alternatively, is there ISOFIX in the passenger seat, and also is the airbag turnoffable?
Thanks

*** Ooops a major typo in the first version of this, I missed out the word NOT, which rather changes what I was trying to say ***
I think for a two year old you are going to need more than just a booster seat.
When I contacted Jaguar about booster seats they said they have a recommended one available from main dealers part depts. I went and took a look at it, it was a Mothercare seat. I was actually looking to fit in in the rear of my XK150 and it would NOT fit in that, I also tried in on the rear seat on a new XK convertable and I wasn't happy with the way that it sat there. In my opinion it wasn't really stable, and I would not have choosen to put my kids on it.
I ended up going to Halfords and going through a number of the seats they had on offer, I think that it was Maxi Cosi Rodi that I found would sit properly on the little rear seats of my 150. But this sort of seat is designed for 4 and up. The seats in the back of the new XK are much bigger than the ones in my 150 and so once the little one is old enough you might be able to get one of the Recaro seats in the back, my youngest likes the Recaro start and has actually choosen to back to that rather than just sitting on a booster seat. But he's 5
I think you're going to need to measure the seat and then go around a shop with plenty of models of seats out on display.
Jaguar customer service might be able to suggest an isofix seat that fits.
When I looked at trying to find a child seat that would work in the back of an XKR (last model) a few years ago I gave up, and kept my XJ6.

Well I phoned the dealer and he said that the accessories brochure i've been given is specifically for XK only, and inside they have the Britax Duo Plus ISOFIX car seat. So it seems that they think it'll fit. However fitting it in the seat and having enough knee room for the sprog are two very different things. And i'm very dubious about whether my 2yr old will actually sit comfortably once its fitted.
It seems like its just a waiting game, and i'll find out on the day.

HI Phil have you ever had a punter tryout the childseat from the accessories in the back of the XK? How far forward did you have to push the passenger seat forward so that it would fit a kid in? Could someone fit in the front seat aswell?
I went to my local dealer to try it out, but they didnt have a seat to try and pretty much ignored me thereafter. Also I felt a bit bad pushing the issue as i'm not buying my car through them. Maybe i didnt push them enough or maybe it was because my darlin littleun filled her nappy and I had to get her home so that the missus could change her!

Hehe, kids....
I've certainly had people try child seats in the outgoing XK. IIRC there is enough leg room for the wee one in the back providing you move the front seat forward a touch. I must confess, i've not tried it in a new XK but I can't imagine there will be an issue.
