Advice needed please. I'm thinking about purchasing a 2nd hand XK8 and I'm doing a number crunching exercise. What can I expect to get MPG on a motorway run? What mileage from a new set of tyres. Also estimated cost of Tyres? I wont be thrashing the car, however, I do intend to open it up every so often.
Any other associated running cost advice will be greatly received.

4.0ltr 5 sped = 20-25mpg
4.2ltr 6 spd = 25-30mpg

Tyres depends on which rim size you will havce 18's, 19's, 20's will decide cost. XK's don't eat tyres so say a good 20k per set.

Just make sure that you dont get bitten by the Nicosil problem. That will make miles per gallon seem unimportant. Buy one with a new engine and you will have an A1 car I think.
