Hunt back a couple of pages and find a thread called "RE: TUNER TWEAKS FOR JAGUAR XK" in these JAGMAN talks a bit about some of the work that was done turbo charging XJ40s which used the AJ6 engine. Theres another thread at a similar time discussing a heavily tuned X300 which uses the AJ16.

The 4.0 engine was fitted with a steel crank etc to be able to handle the loads from a twin turbo engine.

I would estimate the crank to be good for 450 ftlbs torque, TBH the best engine to start with is the S/C 4.0 and then use a big blower and better intercooling to get serious output.

There was a supercharged AJ16 engine on eBay the other day. Not sure whether it will still be there I didn't notice the end date.

the supercharged engine would be great! then you could just whip the SC off and run twin turbos (or a BIG single unit!! ) but i guess they are alot more exspensive than the NA motors right???

what comp. ratio do the NA motors run over the SC ones?? just thinking they would beable to handle 5-7psi of boost stock ok, as long as you keep the AFR nice and rich.

thanks Chris.

I honestly don't know what the NA engine can take. I would get Supercharged pistons and rods if they are different, and use something like twin T25s. But you could run a fair bit of boost with that set up.

As we all know this engine or the 3.2 version was used in the DB7
