Side profile looks similiar to the Chrysler 300C.
That's what I was thinking from the tiny little thumb nail on Autocars website. It's not just the side profile, the front is also very like that "pimp mobile", it's the grill that does it.
I do hope that it doesn't look like this, Jaguars are supposed to look sleak. This picture seems to have joined in the crazy German battle of how ugly can you make your new car look. Can't we just leave Audi and BMW to fight that one out.

Yawn, is this what your boss saw Phil?
This is a computer comp, hope it is as boring as this. Word I heard was that the S-Type was being dumped and a whole new model/image was being launched??

It's nothing like what he's seen apparently.
You're right on the 2nd point, the name is being changed, as is the target market.
Please dont let this be real. If you read the article Ian Callum is really pleased with himself over this one. Cant imagine why. By the way Clarkson is just being a pillock ref Jaguar styling and radiator design in particular. He knows fine what the radiator design on the X350 is about, same thing as this - reference back to 1968 XJ6.
I don't know whether this picture is 'smoke and mirrors' from Jag or just some more 'creative license' from the motoring journalists. I can't for the life of me think why Jag would do this, so I'm tending to think the latter.
I will say this though after working in the automotive industry for a while now, you realise how much rubbish the magazines put out either by getting the wrong end of the stick or simply to get a story out.
Take it from someone who works on the V6 and V8 diesels in Jag and LR, and then saw magazines crediting it largely to Peugeot/Citreon! Then you have 'experts' on here arguing the point with (quite a few) people who actually worked on it! It's so annoying it's laughable..... sometimes anyway!
