S-Type V8 LPG conversion - any experience out there?
Discussion
Anybody had experience of LPG conversion to S-type V8 or similar?
I'm specifically interested in what to expect in terms of drop in mpg.
As an example my daily runaround is a factory-fitment dual fuel Astra 1.6 which does 35mpg on gas and 44mpg on petrol. On that basis I would expect my 4.0 V8 to drop from 25 mpg to about 19mpg.
Great to hear from anyone who has had the conversion done!!

As a long standing LPG conversion company, we have sucessfully installed systems to several Jaguar and also the Discovery 3 V8s.
Compared to the above this V8 is shoe horned into the S-type. We are scheduled to install BRC Sequent to another of these in last week of Oct and this time, were gonna give more time than normal because they are tight. The SuperCharged XJR has got much better access.
They turn out good and perform very well. I would agree that the 19mpg is a good datum, rather than let down - its best to be impressed when you better it.
About fouty to the gallon equivalant, better than that oilburning Jag they have stuffed the disco's donkey diesel into. And I would suggest that yours will go some what better.

I'm just trying to get my nom de plume right down the page, but I do have a valid point to make here. The Disco 3 TDV6 is no donkey - it is one of if not the finest diesel engines in production. The 3.6 V8 will no doubt be even better, but in a 2.5 ton car, it not only delivers economy but performance and unbelievable smoothness. In Jag form it has two not one turbochargers. This makes it better, yes?
