Hi all, on my '97 XK8, the drivers' door window drops a little when I pull up the handle to open the door, but when I shut the door it doesn't rise back up.

Subsequent pulls on the outside handle just make the window drop further.

Any ideas please why its not rising when the door shuts?

Thanks

Chris.

Your window needs resetting. You need to take it all the way down and hold it until you hear a click, take it back up and repeat. (I think) I also think it may be detailed in the manual. The windows losing their settings is the first sign of battery failure, when was yours last changed ?

I usually repeat the process 3 times just to be sure.

Yup, do the window reset proceed and you'll be fine. These cars are very sensitive to a drop in battery voltage, it may be because the car has not been driven for a while or coz the batt maybe on its way out.
