S-Type 4.2 V8's fine. XK/XJ pre-2001 4.0 V8's have the issues. 2002 4.oltr V8s ok as are the earlier engines with the metal tensioners.

V6 3.0ltr X-Type engine bullet proof. Drivetrain the achiles heel to power increses on the X.
