I Posted this on the General Forum, though I might post it again here for all you Jaguar lovers.
If the XK is this good, can't wait for the XKR!....................

'WOW, have been fortunate enough to spend a few days in this beatuy.

Words cannot do justice to how amazingly good this car is.

The comments are true, don't trust photographs, this car is so much more beautiful in the bare metal. The sculptured form is incredibly athletic. Driving it is a delight, fabulous balance between ride and handling. And boy it's quick, only fractionally slower than the previous XKR. Its certainly no old man's car, the gearbox is eager to change down at any opportunity and it almost encourages controled sideways antics.

Why anyone would prefer a BMW 6 Series or Merc SL is beyond me. I've spent a while in a 645 and the XK is in a class above in every respect.

Slight criticisms, still not sure about front lights, interior touchy-feeling bits are not good enough, steering/brakes too over-assisted (along with all other mass-produced cars), rear visibility is poor (along with most other modern cars), its boot is designed to accommodate golf clubs

Jaguar have really moved the game on with this car, the secret is in the 'added lightness' Congratulations Jaguar, and best of luck.
If you're in the market for a GT coupe, please give one a try. Better than a 997, no, better than a 996..............I think so.'

When i first saw the pictures of the new XK i thought the front looked a bloody mess, but i saw a BRG cabrio last week and it looked achingly gorgeous. Sounded it as well!

Bit jealous of those who have driven one to be honest!

Glad you loved it! Your pics still don't do it justice, it is so hard to get a good shot of it. The XKR comes out next month, that will be fabulous, but for close to £80k, I'm going the 997 route, which us a shame as I would prefer to have a Jag on my driveway, but as you point out is is just NOT good enough for that kind of money. C'mon Jag you have a fab produc, don't cheapen it with crap (Ford) penny pinching.

Funny how it seems so difficult to capture on film.
I'm yet to see a picture that does it any justice, I think they look so good in the metal.

Had a drive in one a month ago.....fabulous. I agree may not be quite as hard core as the Porker, but that's not the point. For that reason I'm just looking to upgrade my Caterham, and put a deposit on an XKR there and then. (It's for the wife.......!!!!).
Agree with all the comments above that in a picture it looks just OK, but in the flesh....WOW, only the Aston V8 Vantage comes close, but then again that was designed by the same guy. Well done Jaguar, Just screw it together as well as you have been doing recently and it'll be a future icon.
