A nice trivial one for you guys!

My 2001 S-Type has two stumpy little mudflaps - but they are *in front* of the rear wheels. Every mud flap I've seen before is *behind* the wheels to stop crud being thrown onto the bodywork.

Has there been some mistake? Should I/can I unbolt them and flip them round so they go behind the wheels?

Generally on cars you will find small splash guards in front of the front wheels as this helps with the cars handling etc. The rear may well be the same, or may just stop stones bouncing of the road into the bodywork???

Ask a Jag Dealer.

Sounds like the rear flaps have been taken off at some stage, the small stumpy ones you describe are in the correct position.

Thanks folks.

These look the same as the stumpies I already have -

- should the ones behind the rear wheels be bigger/deeper? Will the ones in the advert fit behind the wheels?

I'd defo like flaps behind the front wheels to keep dirt at bay:

Sorry for the dumb Qs but it's easier to ask here than vist the dealer!

The flaps behind the wheels are noticably bigger than the front ones mate. The ones on that site look like standard rears so should be ok

Hi Folks,

My XK8 has the little spoilers in front of the front wheels you mentioned. It is a very early example DEC '96.

Don't think I have seen them on any other XK in our club ( www.xkec.co.uk )
