You lucky, lucky bloke!

Seriously, focus on the good fortune you had to hear a death rattle. Today was your lucky day!

pwig, sorry if I have my facts wrong but I thought your XJR had a replacement engine - would this not have meant the upgraded tensioners as well? If so is it dependent on the year the engine was changed as to what version tensioners you get?

What did they do for that? (Pwig's bill, not Charlie's reaction) Seems like a lot for a tensioner change (well it seems like a lot to me).

It's only the secondary ones which have the problems, although I'd have done the same. May as well.

If you read further up the thread...

.. you will see that I had booked it in to have the secondrys done, and they phoned me up saying one of the primary ones had sized!

Some people have found hairline cracks in the long primary chain 'runners/guides' (not sure of exact techy name!) when they had their secondary's checked also.

I think £822 is a good price for both sets (if it includes new chains as well). Seems to be nearer a Grand for Main Independent Jag dealers.

Is Elite Stockport anything to do with Elite Derby?

Cheers,
Robocop
