On cold start my xk8 somtimes cuts out
Discussion
There are quite a few possible faults, as these cars suffered from various non start and stalling problems. The first thing i would do, is get the last six digits from your vin number ( lower corner of passenger front wind screen ). Phone you local Jaguar dealer and ask them if your car has, or needs to have the throttle body replaced, Jaguar were replacing these under warranty for early model xk8/ xkr's. Cant remember off the top of my head, but i think it goes upto number )042000 ?? not 100 % sure though. if it does not need replacing i would clean it with some intake cleaner as these some times stick. Also it would be worth cleaning the part load breather. It is the small pipe on the n/s camshaft cover, take the pipe off, and using a small piece of metal wire, ( brazing/ welding rod is best diameter ) force it down into the cam cover it should go in easily. Try these then let me know.
