Just bought an XJ8

I was sorely tempted by an XJR myself. Is it an X308?
Quite cheap over here but probably not as cheap as in the UK.

Are they pricey in the USA?

Well, I don't know why the thread was deleted but I was congratulating Gavin on his purchase!

It's a 308 - 1998 XJ8 Vanden Plas LWB, 4.0 NA, British Racing Green and Cashmere Interior. I got it "at the right price", so it made a lot of sense.

What was nice was digging out my old copies of Autocar, Car etc and telling my wife how I worked on the project before I collected the car, when I drove it I realised just how much I love the driving position and thought that went into the car.

Totally agree, sometimes I feel tempted by the straight six supercharged, as it came with a manual box, but THEN I remember just how involved I was with the AJ26 and AJ27 and that alone would tip my balance toward the AJV8!
