xk8 how many miles can engine take
Discussion
High mileage is considered to be more than 10K per annum. So a 98 car will have done about 80K miles. Much less and it is a low miler, over 100K a high miler.
Life of the engine is not dependent on what roads it is driven on. Motorway miles are considered better as they are usually fast, constant and easy on all parts of the car. It takes far less time @70mph to travel 10K miles than it does at 5mph in London. As far as I know there is no way to tell how the car has been driven. Stone chips on the bonnet are indicative of motorway miles but lots of people have the bonnets repaired.
Total mileage a car can take, about 60 max before you need to get the early tensioners done but plenty have covered 100K without trouble and a few are approaching or even in the 200K plus mileages
