Any positive experience of the JDC or JEC. Wondering which to join.

Only have experience of the JEC and they seem very good. Great mag with informative articles and this month they are launching a DVD Rom of the past 20 years worth of articles.

Lots of events if you have the money, but I haven't been to any club meetings as I'm probably a bit too young.

I was a member of the JDC for 16 years before allowing my membership to expire & joining the JEC which is a far superior club. This can be seen in the respective membership numbers (JEC = 20,000+, JDC = 8,000 & fast declining). The JDC is essentially run by a clique who I found to be very unhelpful,is non technicallay orientated & has a mediocre magazine (lots of pretty Jaguar pictures but not much content). This was relected at JDC´s last AGM when considerable disatisaction was expressed by members from the floor as to the way in which the Directors were running the Club. The JEC, while of course not perfect, is very innovative (JEC TV, Technical Seminars, a DVD recording the last 20 years JEC magazine articles, many tours (domestic & international, a parts reproduction programme & an inter-active Web site, et al).

When I bought my XKR 3 years ago I also wondered that club to join.
I was informed that the JDC was more into competition driving and the JEC into socialising and technical. I therefor decided in joining the JEC, and have found by area club good infact we meet at Brooklands.

Depending on what car you've got there's always the XKEC. See www.xkec.co.uk.
