New S-Type........................It's gonna be steel!
Discussion
Autocar says that Jag have decided to drop the idea of an alu S-Type to enable it to bring it to the market 18 months sooner. I think the excuse is lame and that they have no more money to invest in a line that was going to be cracking and different compared to most other manufacturers.
Oh well, maybe Renault would have more cash to invest in the project! Arrrrgh!!!

I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing TBH. It will ensure that the XJ and XK are regarded as the premium models.
Also, Jaguar founded their image on giving the punter more style/image/performance at a lower price compared to it's rivals. These days they're struggling for style and for image, performance is comparable but the prices need to come down - likewise, the current S-Type needs replacing yesterday. I just hope it's more exciting adn is suitable perhaps for an R-Coupe style spin-off.
However, one thing to bear in mind - Autocar have become the last word in sensationalist reporting...
