New Company Car
Discussion
Hello Jaguar people
I've just joined a new company and have to select my first company car from the pool
3 offered that fit my criteria of a diesel estate:
- Mazda 6 on a 04 plate with 33,000 miles, low spec
- Jaguar X-type estate 2.0D classic estate on a 55 plate with 4,500 miles: midnight black and standard (lack of) spec
- Jaguar X-type 2.0D SE in Ultraviolet with Stone. 04 plate with 11,500 miles
I went for option three....so....
Did I pick the right Jaguar and can I join the Jaguar club now?

Out of the options yes. Now you can get down to making it personal. ebay are great for bits, providing you are allowed.

I actually love the looks of the estate, it reminds me a little bit (hangs head in shame), of my Volvo V40 T4 that I will be selling to make way for it. Seriously, the basic shape is very similar!
Don't mention the 'V' word in the Jag forum!!!!
I agree, I think the X estate is the best looking in the range!

Well, it arrived today
Doesn't feel appreciably slower than the 2.2 version I had on test, and the 5 speed gearbox is much nicer to use than the 6 speed. The lever seems to be better positioned too.
Its an SE, but no sat' nav' - should an 04 plate car have this as standard or was it fitted later? Or, much more likely, am I badly confused?
Overall though, I'm very pleased. The car is great to drive and may judt persuade me to order another once the remainder of the lease expires

I would take pictures, but the car only managed to function for 18 hours.
Yes, its already broken down and is at Webbers in Basinsgtoke awaiting attention.
I now have a Mondeo ST TDCI on loan until it is repaired...nice car actually, if only the interior was a bit higher rent!
The Jaguar seems to have a glow plug problem, the dash light is flashing and the car refuses to start....anyone else experienced this?
