S-Type - Clonk Under Braking
Discussion
In the last week or so, my car has developed an odd clonk under braking. It is only apparent under braking when turning to the right...... when braking in a straight line or turning left, there's no problem.
I've taken the wheels off and checked the obvious suspension & brake components I can get to and can't find anything loose or broken.
The problem with having a fairly well sound proofed car, is that it's hard to pinpoint where a noise is coming from! Sometimes it sounds like it's coming from somewhere close to the firewall, other times it sounds like it's coming from nearer to the wheels.
Has anyone had a similar issue? Is this a known Jag problem of some sort? Any advise is appreciated.

Very likely to be front antiroll bar bushes.........mine eats a set every few months it seems. Apparently it is a design fault. Get the first set of bushes done ( either by Jaguar or buy the genuine parts from them) keep the receipt and the subsequent bushes will replaced foc because its then a spare part warranty claim.
Also check the front wheel bearing as the 1999/2000 S types had an inferior designed ABS lead that allowed water into the wheel bearing to buggar it up. Jaguar have since redesigned this problem out of the car.
Ive replaced both front wheel bearings on my car.
Cheers,
Tony
