Changing X Type rear pads - special tool required?
Discussion
Hi,
an elderly neighbour who's not too well has asked me to change the rear pads on his X Type. It's a 2.0 petrol, approx 2003 vintage.
Are any special tools required to wind in the pistons on the rear calipers or will they push in in a conventional fashion?
Any hints or advice welcome.

They wind in , you can buy the tool or use something like a large pair of water pump pliers that you can squeeze onto the sides of the piston and rotate clockwise to wind the p[iston down into the bores.
Check the level of the brake fluid in the MC whilst you are ding this if you dont bleed any fluid out of the brake caliper nipple yourself, as the fluid in the MC will rise and could overflow out of the reservoir and we all know what brake fliud can do to paint !!
Cheers,
Tony
