Hi

My father has a June 2002 4.2 V8 S-Type which needs new front discs and pads. He can get the pads from his local motor factor but the discs that are listed in the catalogue for that model are 300mm whereas the origianl ones on the car are 320mm.

Has anybody replaced the 320mm discs on such a car and had similar difficulties finding new discs, other than going to the dealers?

Thanks, Richard

David Manners lists the 320mm front discs, they normally turn parts orders around quickly. SNG Barrett have just started stocking parts for modern jags and would probably have stock as well.
hope this helps

Many thanks. Do you have contact details for either of these companies please?

I have a 3ltr S type, replaced all the discs and pads myself this week, and tbh your local factor should be able to get the front discs, I believe QH do replacements. By way of comparison I priced the same parts from the Jag dealers and from my local factors.

Front pad set Jaguar£71.33 factor Mintex £29.58

Rear Pad set Jaguar £55.00 factor Mintex £ 28.94

Rear discs (pair) Jaguar £141.90 factor QH £ 75.02

Front Discs (pair) Jaguar £141.90 factor QH £65.22

This was for parts only.......Lord knows how much they would have charged me for fitting.

Cheers,

Tony
