What a job!

I have currently given up as the bottom ball joint on the passenger side is being an absolute bas*ard, the slitter tool looks like a banana and despite heating the bottom of the upright with a blow lamp NOTHING. It's seized solid. Any ideas?? I have left it tensioned overnight, we will see in the morning.

Anyway, the point of the posting is to moan about the use of a myriad of 'specialist' tools by Jag, why? It makes the entire job difficult and outside the realm of most garages, I asked a number locally and all refused as they didn't have the Jag tooling to hold the hub and turn the ABS nut. It seems to me that we need to get together and purchase the key specialist tools, copying them is generally rather easy, with the exception of the ABS nut tool :-)

I believe the Jaguar Enthusisat Club (JEC) buy many specialist tools and hire them out to members. They also put on many seminars to show you how to do all these kind of jobs. Well worth a look IMHO.
