Have noticed recent debate about V8 XJR. I have 4.0 XJ Sport with 1996 vintage with straight six. Try to maintain it myself fitting Jag filters etc. I have been the owner for seven years and fitted pattern brake parts five years ago so they can't be that bad as the're still on the car. Car has superb performance(why do you need more than 80mph in second) averages 23mpg and would recommend this model to anyone. Normal small problem of digital clock. Where do you get them fixed-reliably.

Have a look on E-Bay you may find one cheaper on there rather than repairing

I have not long owned a 1996 Jaguar XJ^ (x300) and my clock digits have faded.
There are at the moment two people on ebay offering repair/replacement for about £20.

Thanks for that, my 94 XJ6 has had faded clock digits for years. I never got the dealer to formally quote for it, but when it first happened they talking about hour and hours of work.

Has any here tried jagpartsscotland from eBay? the description he gives of the removal procedure sounds simple enough. One of the lights behind the climate control tempurature display has also failed, I guess it should be easy to get at that at the same time.
