E Type 2+2 Clutch Issue - Help needed!!
Discussion
Good afternoon all,
This is my first post on this forum and its on behalf of my Dad who's having a bit of trouble with the clutch on his 1966 E type 2+2.
Hoping someone can help us out
We've currently got no clutch at all, which we've tracked down to a leaking slave cylinder, but we're having a few problems getting it off the car to have a proper look!
We've got the two mounting bolts off the bell-housing, and the connection to the hydraulic pipe off, but there isn't sufficient clearance to manoeuvre the slave cylinder off the mounting studs, past the bodywork, and off. Has anyone had any experience of this and could point us in the right direction? Also, can anyone recommend an overhaul kit or replacement slave - we're in the Peterborough area.
Thanks in advance for your help, it is much appreciated! The poor old girl has been off the road for a couple of months now and needs to get again!
Paul
Hi Paul,
Another website forum you might want to look at is
www.jag-lovers.org
I've not used the E-Type forum, but certainly the XK forum is frequented by a lot of people running, servicing and rebuilding their Jag's and a lot of really good technical advise is available.
Cheers
Ken
