Can anyone recommend a good independent person in the Preston or surrounding Lancs area that could diagnose an electrical fault in a 1987 Daimler 3.6 that seems to be stopping the battery both charging and providing power to the engine?

Cheers.

Dunno what the problem is but i'm having a similar thing with my XJ6 3.6 V6 at the moment. battery not holding charge and having to jump it every time. I'm going to try another battery just in case then i'm not sure.

Have you changed the battery? Checked the alternator is charging the battery??

Cheers, didn't look at this thread for ages, it's my Dad's car and I'll mention Penrith to him.
