... I have done a quick search and nothing much on this came up

About to pick up a 4.2S (XKR) next week and would love some insurance advise. Have come out of TVR's, 911's and the like so unsure of the companies that quote competitively for Jag's

Any views on Jag's own scheme, the XK8/XKR's club scheme would be very appreciated.

Seeing a fair view new XK's on my commute upto Coventry. Ice blue one followed me up through the roadworks today (LHD), I think they look very classy and will "grow" like the current car has..

Depends on your age/no-claims, etc. as to where'll be the most competitive. Direct Line/Tesco/others actually provided by UKI are usually best for particularly young drivers with no no-claims, etc. As you get older, more of the specialist companies will be competitive. I've just switched from all the UKI-fronted budget insurers to Adrian Flux this year for the XKR (and to Bell Direct for the Explorer).

Hope that helps...

If you join the XK Enthusiasts Club www.xkec.co.uk , as well as getting loads of good tips and advice you can get a club discount from Adrian S Flux & Co - who do competitive rates anyway.

Mine is £472 for 40yr old male 2nd lowest risk area garaged(for a '96 XK8 admittedly)but fully comp with all the extras.

No convictions .... obviously!!!

Hi - try Liverpool Victoria who still seem competitive and give very wide cover on Jaguar sports models.

Hi again Apex, great news about the car, did you get my email ref: R Pack and the 'S'Pack??

I filled out the online form on Ford website www.ford.co.uk/ie/Insurance/-/ins_quote/-/-/3/-# and then phoned them up to confirm the quote. It is all underwritten by Norwich Union and I am now with Jaguar Insurance (NUD).

It is great because they will rplace your Jag if you smash it, plus your car only goes to a Jag Bodyshop and when your car is in for a service they cover the Insurance on the courtesy car.

I'm 32 yrs old, 3 points, 2 yrs NCB, I very large claim 2 yrs ago (whoops) Came out at £900.

.... thanks all, thats given me some leads. Currently with Liverpool and Victoria but as siad that's with a history of BMW/PORSCHE/TVR.. Have heard they have got expensive for group 20 cars...

Triple 7. Thanks for all your advise, and can confirm has the S Pack. Saw the car Sat, looks awesome, picking up on Saturday..

You guys are very well behaved over here compared to some of the antics that went on in the TVR forums a year or so ago..
