Jaguar XKR on the way

And we saw it at the FoS - unknowingly

XKR is on the way
XKR is on the way
If you wondered what the supercharged, R, version of Jaguar's new coupe, the XK, will look like, then you've seen it, right here on PH. Even better, if you were at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this summer, you'll have seen it strutting its stuff.

According to Autocar, the lightly disguised XK thraping up and down the famous hill was in fact the new XKR.

Well, I don't like the way this picture has been done. It's a short focal length, taken close to the front. Try taking a picture of your girl friend like this and see how long you stay friends.

I am not too sure about this new XK8 , unless I see it in the flesh , head on it looks like the Rover MG,not curvy enough for my liking. but hey, good job we're all different

Headlamps look like a Ford Puma's.

Not a good look.

It's a boss-eyed fatso of a car.

Clearly, each to their own, but I would commend you to checking out the Jaguar website

www.jaguar.co.uk/uk/en/vehicles/concept_cars/the_

and look up the new XK website. There are some great bits of video on there, and it sounds good, too!

As one who has seen it in the flesh I can say it is ok but not particularly exciting. It was at the Goodwood Revival on Jaguars stand where I was able to take a good look at it. I've always liked the old XK Coupes but this one just isn't quite right. To be honest it looks a bit Japanese rather like what a Lexus version of a Hyundai Coupe might look like if you know what I mean!

Personally, I think it looks great (but, as they say, each to their own!!)

I'm a big fan of the current XKR especially with the 20" detroit wheels however am a bit underwhelmed by the latest one. I admit it will be good to see a few on the road having only seen the preproduction version that was at Goodwood FOS (on the Jaguar stand).

What's more of interest to me is what it does to values of the current XKR...

I saw 5 new XK's on the road last week. They do look great and it is good that a fresh XK is on the way after 10 yrs. Do I want one? Well yes I do, but not as much as the current model, thats why I went and bought one last month! Plus the new XKR is going to be around the £70k mark which is a bit too pricey for me.

I used to think the existimg XKR was ugly which put me off them but the new one is even worse, resonable in black but the front is really horrendous - its a shame - surely they do not need to keep it ugly to support aston anymore as with the db7 / xkr

Sort it out jaguar .............

Jag have given some poncy marketing company a shed load of money for a bad advertising campaign. As a jaguar owner, it does not fit with my image. Who is the Gorgeous campaign directed at? Looks like a commercial for a cologne!

LA, interesting reaction in the US.

The car going up the hill at Goodwood was camouflaged. The car in the picture at the top of this page is not a supercharged body.

Unfortunatly it's a common trait for wordsmiths to think their narrative is poetic. Rich...

Why bother. Just buy an Aston Martin and have done with it. I really cannot understand why jaguar went down the rout of tracing the out line of the Aston Martin and hoping somewhere down the line, that maybe just maybe, we can make it look as good as a Aston Martin but different. Different, yes, worse.

How sad.

i followed a red convertable one of these for about 5 miles on the a34 at the weekend. Whilst it looks nice and modern it also looked a bit clumsy, in fact it made me think that the current XKR was perhaps sleeker and a bit more sophisticated

agree! that's why I set my heart on getting the current XKR 4.2s which looks absolutely voluptuous compared to its replacement.

By the way triple 7 , if you polish that car anymore the paintwork might come off
