Does anyone know of any breakers, also, can you get a manual gearbox that will fit
I am looking into retrofitting one into my MX-5, either a jag unit or an LSx, i am working up some specs irt weight, compactness, power, ease of install.

Any comments from those of you more knowledgable than me much appreciated

JustJags seem to have a regular supply of these, they had a couple in last time I was there.

Fitting a manual gearbox seems to be the problem, the electrics on the engine managment talks to the gearbox electrics. If there is noe restonce from the gearbox engine thinks there in no drive and will not go.

There is a company in America www.thedrivenman.com that was looking onto doing a convertion, they already do one for the XJS, but I do not know how they are getting on.

If they manage it I would love to have one fitted to my XKR.

I have just spoken to them and they tel me they think they have found a company that can do the computer interface, so lets hope for later next year.

I think racing green cars (www.racinggreencars.com/modern.asp) offer a manual conversion for the XKR.

At least on my page they are advertising in the top righthand corner of this webpage.

Just got back from collecting my car from Racing Green water feed to the intercolers went Monday, ment I missed a track day at Brands.

Anyway back to the thread, I have spoken to them before about having a manual box, Arden do one but the costs are out of this world so RGC don't tend to offer it.

I've got an engine you can have...

...it is in 'used' condition though.

You can do it. You'll need to run it on a Motec ECU or similar, and maybe replace the clocks and other electronics (ABS etc) on the Mazda as you have to on a Jag.
