XE Sunglasses holder

There is a neat little compartment in the roof console that is presumably meant to hold sunglasses. But the lid won't stay shut any more, not only is it annoying having it hanging down it means I can't put anything in it.

Is this a common issue? Is there anything I can do about it?

I don't own an XE, but might glueing in a couple of weak magnets work well enough?

I had the opposite happen to my XF. The lid would not open because the sunglasses had got it stuck. Managed a fix by brute force!
