LGR gas conversion for an XKR is quoted at £2,500 with a claim that performance is not affected. Anyone ever looked into this? Know anyone that has done it? The sales blurb tells the pros (basically half price fuel) but what are the cons? :scratchchin:

I had a V8 Range Rover with a gas conversion. It was ok on the open road but used to stall at low revs, apparently due to the gas metering device not being very sophisticated (ie allowing too much gas in). I'm sure that these systems are much better now but beware! You also lose about 10% of your power.....

You must be off your trolley. One of the down sides to gas conversions, is the wear & tear on components such as spark plugs. Know of one poor sod, who's spark plug fell apart and damaged his nickasil bores (Audi) – car written off due to cost of replacement engine.
The whole point of running a Jag, is to burn off the global supply of petroleum products as quickly as possible and contribute to the government’s coffers.
Nothing accelerates new technology more than short supply. Thank God we won’t have fuel cells in my lifetime.

I didn't think you could use gas conversion on supercharged engines? Not entirely sure, just thought I read it somewhere a while back.
