I've looked at an e pace today with a view to buying it. All round it's pretty good but has an annoying little rectangular gap/hole in the top of the bumper, below the headlight. The bumper doesn't appear to be proud but you can push it back ever so slightly beneath the headlight and the gap/hole disappears altogether. The current owner hadn't even noticed it but I did and I'd like to get it sorted if I agree a price with them.

It's not damage, the hole is meant to be there, maybe a drain hole but obviously meant to be hidden under the light, roughly where I've circled in the picture.

Does anyone here have any idea whether there's dinner adjustment somewhere that might pull that section off there bumper in a little in order that it remains hidden, as intended?

Noticed a similar thing on my X351 XJ the other day, initially thought it had been whacked but everything looked too even and the other side was the same. I've seen another one since and it's the same.

I think it's meant to be like that.

If really tight alignment is your thing then a modern Jaguar will drive you mad. Oddly my 2010 XKR is fabulously tight on panel gaps and fit, as good as anything I've seen and beyond criticism, but I've had two X351 XJs and they look like they were made by TVR for panel fit and alignment and every F-Type I've had a good look at appears crash repaired from the factory.

From the very earliest 2009 X351 to this mega late 2020 car they never got this right on a single car, and I've seen countless X351s.



I think of it as Heritage. I don't think anyone but a few car bores notice or care though, every new Mercedes Benz I look at has appaling fit and finish and the paint looks like hammerite, and VAG have dropped a long way from the laser accurate fit and finish of the Piech years to no apparent detriment in sales.

Thank you, I was beginning to think this too!

All other panels are fine on this one and I have seen some really bad examples while looking smile
