The XF is now out of production but is still a great car. I'm thinking of a P300

Any great no no's?

I'm buying it to run, and enjoy, Is it hopelessly out dated?

I'm not thinking of resale values (I've not bought it yet)

List is around £50k which seems cheap compared to a BMW 340i.

How much discount is possible?

Who knows anything

Well I saw the last XF on the production line on Monday and the line closed completely yesterday. You can't now specify a design and I think all the cars were built to order so the only new ones will be cancelled orders. Last F type finish on 21st May

They weren’t ’built to order’. Jaguar built all the run-out cars with a very similar spec so they could keep the dealerships going with some stock until the EVs arrive

As I suspected , thanks for the clarification . As an aside do you think you will be tempted by an electric Jaguar ? I ask you in full recognition that you have been a serial Jaguar Buyer in the past and I was hoping to hear your thoughts . Is it just a case of waiting to see how this electric future for the brand pans out regards styling or is electric just not for you ?

Returning to this, I went to my local Jaguar dealers, who had a red P300 in stock.

I understand that the car market is not a happy place for car dealers at present.

However, they wanted full list for it plus the extras, ? No negotiation.

If it had been BRG and a tan interior, I might have been tempted, but for a new but discontinued model?

I am collecting a demonstrator A6 Avant hybrid later this week at £20k below list. (value over character)

Am I missing something here?

Given that electric cars will make up about 30% of all future car sales according to the head of Toyota, I think Jaguar have shafted themselves once again. They have a history of doing that. When I worked there, the x350 got delayed because of manufacturing issues, but they’d already committed to stopping production of the x308. That resulted in about 9 months of no XJ revenue when XJ revenue was a major money maker. I remember that resulted in quite a few layoffs.

If I can help it, I won’t buy any EV, let alone a supposed up market Jag one. Sad to witness the demise of them.
