2006 XK Power seats issue
Discussion
I bought a 2006 XK convertible as a hobby and toy a month ago . Lovely to drive and I am generally enjoying fixing the issues . I changed the battery and discovered afterwards that the seats on a 2006 and 2007 model had early seat controllers that need to be re set by Jaguar after a battery disconnect to work again fully . Googled it a lot and found it's a known issue, I did not read before I changed the battery.
Local independent Jag specialist will do it , 30 mins labour plus VAT so about £70. However I no doubt will disconnect again as I sort the issues. I have Icarsoft V3 but there is no seat calibration in the menu.
Has anyone on here got a solution. It's a reset rather than the solution in the manual of moving to all ends of travel and holding the button.
I need a scanner like the one I have that does seat resets. Any solution welcome. Thanks

Mate I have had the same over the 8 years I have owned mine.
I can do everything to all my cars and motorcycles. But dam the seats can not be done without having them reset by my local jaguar independent.
It occasionally just happens and the seat tilt forward just stops. And it does this for no reason. Nothing to do with disconnecting the battery, it just stops working.
Its some thing I just live with now.

Hi
I am not saying it is a software issue but the XK is full of modules that over time have had new software versions produced. I believe that if the car was in a main dealer in its early life they would update to the latest version.
It maybe that this issue is mentioned in a Jaguar TSBs which are issues with fixes published over time.
There are lists of these and someone on here maybe able to point you in the right direction.
A local Jag independent dealer may be able advise as well.

As an update as it may help others in the future
I bought iCarsoft V3 JLR version. I already have the multi car version so it was a bit of a flyer , but on investigation the JLR specific version has a lot more Jag functionality .
To cut a long story short , a bit of fiddling as the software is simple but a few sub menus to discover and I got the seat back upright , set a good spot and saved it .
So a success and a shout our for iCarsoft LR V3.0 .
Lets see what this car brings me next !
