Hi,
Trying to find a new (to me) car to purchase in Jan.
At the moment I do have a few options to consider including what could be my first Jag…
F Pace 300d roughly 16 plates around 50K miles.
How do people find them? Does the 3.0d have the same issue as the 2.0?
Is the auto box responsive or sluggish?
How’s the boot space? Would I be able to fit in 2 bikes (1 adult one child) in the boot with the seats down without the need to remove the front wheels?
Any other watch out?

Had my 3.0D S for about 5 months and love it. Don't know about bikes fitting as I don't have any to get in there but it is a very sizable boot with the back seats down and a good shape and size aperture for loading. I think it is supoosed to be the best in this size class of vehicle.
Not sure what issues the 2.0 suffers but the 3 litre has bags of torque and is silky smooth. No doubt some JLR type issues will occur at some point but every manufacturer has their gotchas on faults and reliability so you pays your money and takes your choice.
Love the handling, the gearbox is smooth and responsive, suspension is on the firmer side but you wouldn't get the great handling if it was soft, a compromise that works for me.
Hope you find one you like and enjoy it

Thank you.
Never had an auto before and nowdays, everything of this kind of size/type of car seems to come with an auto.
Torque and smoothness is what I’m after, at the moment the BMW 3.0d with the ZF8 seem to get the best reviews with Jaguar not far behind. I’ve driven my dad’s Toyota auto and could not leave with it

Thank you, very helpful!
Has anyone moved between BMW and Jag and can share thoughts on the quality of the auto box?
On the engine, the ingenium engine and JLR electrics don’t get a good press. As mentioned above, all cars have their issues.. I’ve owned big V6 with French engines and a couple of Alfa, and haven’t experienced any major issues, I can appreciate that horror stories run wider than good stories.
Apart from regular service and receipts of work, any watch out on a 16 plate model with >50k miles?
Thanks

I had a 2017 3.0D S and loved it. It's the PSA V6. They need regular oil changes with good quality oil. I traded mine in for the SVR, but if there wasn't an SVR model available I'd be happy with the 3.0D. Has anyone moved between BMW and Jag and can share thoughts on the quality of the auto box?

Things I'd go for would be the LED headlights, 10" InControl Pro entertainment system. The F-Pace suffered initially from poor panel gaps and gremlins with the infotainment systems. I have the same infotainment system and through the updates it's just got better and better. I had the same system in my Evoque and quite often I'd have no camera's or no sound. Locking the car for 10 mins and trying again always fixed it. I also found just ignoring the problem it would fix itself whilst driving. Now though I can't recall that last time I had some sort of issue with it.
