Lubricant Changes???
Discussion
I have a Jaguar XF 2.2 diesel automatic with about 110,000 miles on the clock which is my daily.
Reading the thread below it got me thinking about when the lubricants in the auto gearbox, power steering, diffs etc should be changed? My car is serviced as per schedule but thus far to my knowledge has not had any lubes changes other than the engine oil itself. Should there be other lubes changed periodically too? tia

Its probably not on the main dealer schedule as they tend to think sealed for life so it will be out of warranty when it fails. Assuming its a ZF eight speed box then it is recommended by ZF that the box is serviced every 60K miles. Diff oil should also be done at about 100K miles. Brake fluid is hydroscopic so should be changed every four years (?). Power steering fluid doesn't get very hot but I guess at some point changing it would be a good idea?

Always worth doing fluid changes, this is the old vs new oil from the diff on my XFR, 10 years old and 55k miles... lovely!
Quite a difference from drained to new...
Wow. It's just no service schedule says change them and here I am at 110,000 miles not having changed them. Also I heard that old auto gearboxes are best left with old gloopy oil as new oil shows up issues?????Quite a difference from drained to new...
Also my past experience is when I spend money on an old car immediately afterwards it gets some terminal fault and is ready for the knackers yard...
