I want to replace the exhaust on my 2000 XKR. I want a sound befitting an XKR, and more power.

I have been considering the performance package from jaguarxp.com. at $1220 for an air filter, charger pulley, and borla exhaust seems to be the best deal around, even after import duties and VAT into the UK.

However, just as I am about to order one, I am told Borla have discontinued the exhaust. I have been offered a back pipes only version for slightly less money, but I wanted to replace all of the stock system behind the cat.

Does anyone have any recommendations on a cost effective exhaust similar to the borla?

Thanks
Jeff Cumpsty

I've been shopping around and tried various, but will be going the expensive route and buying the Racing Green Super Sport exhaust. You can go half system from the centre silencer back or full system from the manifold back.

1/2 system = 15BHP increase £1700
Full = 20-25 BHP increase £3000! You can do each bit at differnet times.

There is no resonance and only howls when your are accelerating hard, when cruising it is as quiet as a standard exhaust.

A Jag enthusist, xkrman, lives up near you, he has the RGC system, maybe he could do a demo for you?

Would be glad to.

I have the Racing Green Super Sport Half System.

Let me know if you want to meet.

Steve.

Hi Jeff

If you do one modification to your XK, then make it an exhaust. It is crying out for a decent sound. I too have the RGC Supersport Half System and it is superb although a little expensive. However XK Enthusiasts Club has arranged a little discount for members which takes a bit of the sting out! You still a member?

Have sent you an e-mail with details.

Thanks for the email. I have to admit it sounds amazing.

However, I am thinking about upgrading my car next year to a 2003 or 2004 model, so I don't want to invest £3000 in the exhaust.

I might order the Mina back box system from JaguarXP. They are doing a package for $1050 including the partial exhaust, charger pulley, and air intake. I think the combination should give me enough grunt and power to see me through until I upgrade the car.

No excuse jeff, you can take the exhausts with you to go on your new car. The rear 1/2 system goes on the 4.2ltr. The front 1/2 difers between the 4.0 and 4.2.

So get the back half now, and when you change to a newer XKR save up and buy the front 1/2.

Well the decision is made. I am going for the kit from Jaguar XP.com.

I am getting the Borla Exhaust, Air Intake, and Supercharger pulley upgrade.

Does anyone know a good mechanic in Wirral area?

Does anyone know whether any UK manufacturers/suppliers can fit a sports exhaust to the X308 XJ saloon (non-supercharged)?

Cheers
