With ULEZ expanding, I need to look at getting rid of my 2009 335d. Nothing wrong with it, still goes as well as the day I got it. Few cosmetic issues (stone chips, the odd scuff, and scratched rims). Bit of a shame to let it go to be honest.

An XFR caught my eye, mainly because it's relatively cheap and could fill a V8 shaped hole in my life (never owned a V8). However, it is pushing on for 13 years old and has intergalactic miles on the clock.

Bit of context, I don't NEED a daily runner. I do bugger all mileage these days and I do have access to other cars. So, if I got this Jag and it needed the odd job doing, it wouldn't be the end of the world if it were off the road for a bit while I sorted it.

But, I also don't want to be landed with big How risky a proposition is a vehicle like this? I haven't seen it yet (other than some crap pictures) so I can't really judge its condition. Just looking for general thoughts and opinions.

All depends on how well maintained it has been. That mileage should have seen quite a few suspension parts replaced by now. Injectors can be an issue if cheapo fuel has been used. Timing chains should have been done by now. And if it’s been mapped then just find another.

Looked at TrustPilot reviews for the dealer. Won't be going anywhere near it!

199,500 miles on my 2010 XKR, still my daily driver, and the best car I will have have owned. If the XFR has been well maintained, I wouldn't be afraid. Check the service history, and make sure that oil changes were done on a regular and timely basis. That supercharged 5.0L V8 will certainly cure a lot of your V8 itches. It's wondrous! If the service history is not available or incomplete, look for one that has it, the miles aren't as important as the proper maintenance (mostly frequent oil changes).
