Imobilliser Problem

Just inherited a XJ Sovereign 3.2 1997, and have an intermittent problem of car not starting, battery is all fine, suspect the problem is possibly to with the imobilliser and the key, seems at present problem only occurs with one of the keys...

Anyone heard of this?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Knackered keys are not uncommon. That would be my guess if it only ever happens with one of your keys. You will need to order a replacement to chassis number, then it needs programmed to the car. There are loads of independents around London that can do this for you. Mail me off line if you need pointed in the right direction.

Well, the problem turned out to be with corroded connector on Alarm ECU and dodgy wiring behind the steering wheel, all sorted now and going like a dream.
