Low Coolant (XF)
Discussion
Hi folks, just looking for a bit of guidance (struggling to get through to our local JLR currently, guess it's a bit early for them).
I had a 'check coolant level' warning on the dash a couple of times yesterday (not consistent, it goes away after a minute or two) and got home to check it and it is way below the minimum line. The car is a 1.5 year old XF and I am surprised that it has gone through that much coolant, as i was under the impression that it didn't really go from the system?
I'm hoping it's not an underlying issue as the last car that leaked coolant caused about 2k of damage to itself. My query is, the manual is a bit vague about what coolant to use, it says 50/50 mix water and antifreeze conforming to the specific JLR spec STJLR.651.5003. Any ideas on:
A) where I can get that?
B) can I just top up what's in there with it and see if it disappears?
C) any other advice welcome
Thanks.

Good Morning , from memory its a 50/50 mix for hot climates and 60/40 otherwise . The only equivalent coolant to the Jaguar one I have actually used is the Total Coolelf Auto Supra -26 0c . Its ok just to top up but preferably with distilled water , I suspect the Coolant Tank is leaking which is a common Jaguar failing . Top it up and see how you go .
Thanks red, useful info.
I did manage to get through to JLR service in the end and they said to just bring it in and they would fill it up and take a quick look. They couldn't spot any obvious leaks so just topped it up (free of charge!) and said keep an eye on it.
I found it odd that it was so low but they didn't seem worried.
