I remember 50 years ago , Johnny who lived on the same Glasgow Housing Estate with an old Vauxhall Victor filling holes on the wings with Catalloy preparing her for Sale. Eternally hopeful that a willing Buyer was just around the Corner I thought of him yesterday when I saw this Advert and I wish him the same Good Luck I wished Johnny ,he will need it .

Ended unsold with no bids , I didn't believe that the Pre Production aspect would attract any interest

This is the only Lister Jaguar XJS that I would be interested in but the XJR S is in a very rare colour and much more appealing than the almost inevitable red

The Rover P5B in their collection is to die for, but what a price! I remember that the first place we rented at the start of our marriage was owned by a guy with one of these.

Yeah the P5B was a lovely machine . who can forget them sweeping in and out of Downing Street all through the Sixties and into the Seventies . Thatchers P5B is at the Gaydon Museum and one of my favourite exhibits

Surely the pre-production aspect would devalue a car like that?

It would in my eyes.

I certainly don’t think it would add value and how the Owner apparently does is beyond me . I suppose in some ways it’s similar to what Jaguar does with their limited edition models celebrating this and that but largely meaningless to the general public . A long way from my old Escort Mexico .

I didn't see it as a 'Lister Jaguar', just an XJ-S being sold by a company called Lister.

I did think that but I made the comment anyway as the Company do own what was the " Lister " in Lister Jaguar and
as far as I am aware are carrying out Lister Conversions on modern Jaguars .
