Independent Jaguar Dealers

Interested to hear experience(s) of buying from Arun Cars - especially anyone who has bought an XK over the past 3-5 years (happy for PM's as appropriate).

As soon as I hear the term Jaguar Independent Dealer or Jaguar Specialist I tend to approach them with both cynicism and wariness . I say this purely when it comes to the Sales of Vehicles on a forecourt . Unless the Sale is backed by a recognised Engineering Facility for Jaguars operating alongside then I find with the necessary Knowledge and Research I’m better off trusting my own Judgment in the marketplace . Jaguar Main Dealerships are little better . Marshall of Cambridge for example have some East Europeans in a Building alongside buffing and polishing , painting and carrying out various remedial work . Are they Jaguar trained or approved ? Of course not . It’s all about the maintaining the margins and increasing Profits . Few Jaguar Dealerships will maintain their own Bodyshops preferring to simply contract the work to third parties .
I have been to Arun and met Dominic , I never bought as the Car an X350 was I felt big money for what it was so more than this I honestly couldn’t say . I think given Jaguars current state , the writing is on the wall for many of these Jaguar Independent Emporiums . Inevitably with this Business Model they will become Classic Car Dealers and Dominic I suspect knows this too . I have noticed he has already Branched out with Arun Prestige .
