What do we think of the money being asked ?
The miles, condition, and the fact it's from a main dealer make that look pretty reasonable. Even the most scruffy 150,000 mile dog goes for £11k-£12k at auction. Even privately I think you'd be looking high teens to £20k?I bet they're slow to find buyers though.
I’ve been following the Jaguar forum for a while as looking to switch from my TVR. I did dip into the F type - astonishing value thread as I started to look at the v8 R or S ones.
However now I’ve started noticing them, for what I want, I’m starting to feel that the XKR is closer to the mark. They do look good. Especially the coupe although I would want a convertible.
The later Dynamic ones with the optional sports seats are very attractive. Watching prices, they do seem to be all over the place.
This one is a fantastic spec (for me), although pretty optimistically priced:

However I do also think a 10 year old large engined Jaguar is a pretty hard sell currently. I’d be very interested regarding how much these cars actually sell for (or where the dealers price them when buying them in).

I think that Dynamic R is simply superb and once again I am reminded what a beautiful shape the X150 is . That said it’s 17 years old and entering Classic Territory where on paper at least and at this money Aston Martin rear their head . I say on paper because the truth is that Aston at the time never really had a competitor to the XKR . The DB9 was more of a GT and tended to wallow a bit in the corners , nowhere near as sharp a driving experience . The Vantage on the other hand especially at its initial 4.3 was simply a device to give Aston sales more volume and by the time they reached 4.7 the game was over . I don’t decry either of these Astons , I owned a DB9 but for me the X150 in 5.0 XR form especially was a far better buy . Today I still think this is the case and increasingly Trade prices I think are reflecting this
As regards it being a hard sell I think you’re correct when viewing it as a normal car as much of its attraction is in its low mileage . Use it a bit and it becomes less special at 45,000 miles say . Bought as a Classic however I think it’s price makes more sense as it’s a very different mindset .
