Just after a bit of advice. We run a fleet of Jaguar Eagle hearses and limousines (based on 2019 XJ saloons). The nearside door mirror housing is loose - it looks like it has been bent back and now won't lock into place. If it's twisted it will lift off the baseplate but is secured by the heater element wiring.

Arrow shows where the mirror is loose.

I wonder whether this is fitted by way of a bayonet fitting and just needs relocating or is it a new unit? I don't want to play around too much with it as the vehicle is out every day on funerals.

SD.

I have never owned an X351 but on previous XJs I have owned It was a bayonet fitting . It was a cylindrical device with a couple of retention ridges that simply kept the mirror in position within its base .

You can get a better look at it here . I would suspect the X351 is of little difference . I think you are going to have to make the necessary electrical disconnections in order to lift the body clear and get a better look

Cheers everyone.

Bit the bullet yesterday and gave it a good jiggle around and got it to seat correctly.
